hot honey halloumi marinade
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the hot honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice. I prefer to marinate my halloumi overnight but if you’re short on time, marinate for at least an hour before cooking.
pan fry the halloumi
In a pan, heat up a tablespoon of olive oil. Then add the halloumi to the pan and sear each side for about 2 minutes. During the last minute, add 3 tbsp of the hot honey marinade to the pan and lower the heat. This will add a sweet and spicy glaze to the halloumi.
can I make this vegetarian?
Absolutely! I’ve made this with just the hot honey halloumi, baby spinach, fresh basil and heirloom tomatoes and it’s still a hearty sandwich.
