This traditional greek salad is an assembly of simple ingredients that’s perfect for those busy weeknights. It’s filled with sweet summer tomatoes and juicy cucumbers along with salty feta and Kalamata olives. The dressing is simple but it brightens up the vegetables in this salad in a big way. It’s just another example of how Greek cuisine reminds us that all we really need are fresh ingredients with a simple preparation to make a delicious meal.
key ingredients
- Tomatoes: Ripe Roma or vine tomatoes
- Cucumbers: English or Persian cucumbers
- Green Bell Peppers
- Red Onions
- Greek Kalamata Olives
- Creamy Feta: Opt for the whole feta cheese blocks (instead of crumbled feta) made from sheep’s milk.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Oregano
- Red Wine Vinegar
key steps
Add all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix. That’s it! It really doesn’t get more simpler than this and this salad should take no longer than 15 minutes to make.
I love to serve this salad with crusty bread or Bazlama which is a soft and pillowy Turkish flatbread. Enjoy!
